85th Annual Shareholder Meeting

SEG Spotlight
What is a SEG? A Select Employee Group or “SEG” is a company partner in the community that we extend membership to their employees. We have some great relationships with our SEGs and hope our member owners support these businesses when they have a need .
This month we are excited to highlight a company we have partnered with since 1992!

South Florida Baptist Hospital has served Plant City and surrounding areas as a not-for-
profit community hospital since 1953. As part of the BayCare Health System, a family of health care providers consisting of the 15 leading not-for-profit hospitals in the Tampa Bay region, South Florida Baptist Hospital offers all of the high-tech services of an acute care hospital. Because its 28-bed Emergency Center is connected to the hospital, patients have access to a full range of diagnostic, imaging and surgical services.

The hospital continually adds and upgrades services to be able to provide the latest technological advances to the Plant City community.

In recent years, the hospital expanded several essential services:
  • Cardiac Services – In 2017, the hospital added a second state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab in the Steve and Krista Howard Heart and Vascular Center and can now treat ST elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) and also has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.
  • Critical Care – In 2016, the hospital opened the 17-bed Charles and Betty Grimes Critical Care Center that serves critically ill patients who need around-the-clock monitoring.
  • Robotic Surgery – In 2015, the addition of two new operating rooms in the Pete Beaty Surgical Center made it possible for the hospital to expand its robotic surgery program. In 2018, the hospital upgraded to the robotic da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
